History
Cooper Levenson was formed in 1957 with two attorneys. Since then, the firm has grown to more than 70 attorneys, nine offices in four states, and a support staff of more than 100. Today, Cooper Levenson April Niedelman & Wagenheim attorneys specialize in 22 practice areas of law.
During our Golden Anniversary year, our firm - whose roots have always been firmly planted in Atlantic City, New Jersey - "went West" and opened an office in Las Vegas. Cooper Levenson has always dominated the practice of gaming law on the East Coast, crafting legislation that enabled casinos to open in Atlantic City in the 1970s and representing most of the casino companies doing business in New Jersey. In 2007 the firm saw opportunity and the right timing - and launched its Las Vegas practice. Cooper Levenson now has nine offices. Our New Jersey offices are in Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, Princeton, Newark, Sea Isle City, and Trenton. The firm also has offices in: Bear, Delaware; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition to "going West," Cooper Levenson
is busy with a host of initiatives to begin
our next 50 years. Two hallmarks of our corporate
philosophy have been dedication to the community
and optimism for the future. We are honored
to have recently received two awards for our
community service efforts. The Press of Atlantic
City has presented Cooper Levenson with the prestigious
Bailey Award. This award is named after George
Bailey of the holiday classic film "It's a Wonderful
Life" because he played a significant role in
making his community a better place to live.
The honor is given to a single Southern New
Jersey business for its community service efforts
throughout the region. In addition, the Metropolitan
Business and Citizens Association chose the firm
as its very first STAR award recipient. These
awards have, in a way, served as a 'raising of
the bar' for all of us; in fact, we are expanding
our community service efforts as we begin
our next 50 half-century.
Although the firm has experienced extensive growth and change during its 50 years, the cornerstones of our firm's foundation remain the same: commitment to client service, corporate responsibility, and dedication to community.
