Summer Associates
All 2009 summer positions have been filled.
Applications for summer 2010 will be accepted
after Sept. 1, 2009.
Overview
Our summer program is designed to expose summer associates to our attorneys, practice areas, and culture. Summer associates are considered part of the Research and Appeals Department and report to the head of that department.
Eligibility
Due to the nature of the work, the summer associate program is designed for full-time students who have completed at least two years of law school. The program does not hire undergraduate students as law clerks. However, undergraduate students may apply for summer file clerk positions.
Assignments
Summer associates are asked to research and analyze legal issues, draft research memoranda, draft litigation pleadings, motions and briefs and a broad range of transactional documents. While some work is assigned based on areas in which a summer associate expresses an interest, we endeavor to expose associates to a variety of practice areas.
Department Briefings
Each week during the summer, a department head or department representative will make a presentation to the summer associates about their particular practice area. An informal meeting, usually held over breakfast or lunch, summer associates are invited to ask questions to more fully understand the work of that practice area and the business operations of the firm.
Application Process
A letter of interest along with a current resume and writing sample should be submitted to Gerard Quinn, Esq., Cooper Levenson Law Offices, 1125 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401 by e-mail to gquinn@cooperlevenson.com or by fax to (609) 572-7365.
We begin accepting applications in September for the following summer. Due to great interest, the positions are usually filled by the end of the year so we encourage you to apply early.
