Cooper Levenson Partner Jay Collins inducted into the Christopher Columbus Committee Hall of Fame
Jay Collins, partner in the law firm of Cooper Levenson, recently received notice of his induction into the Christopher Columbus Day Committee “Hall of Fame.” The Christopher Columbus Day Committee is an Atlantic City tradition since 1938. “Being selected as a Columbus Day Committee “Hall of Fame” inductee is truly an honor which represents your dedication, devotion and commitment to help support worthwhile endeavors that make a difference in the lives of others,” said Councilmember-at-Large John J. Schultz in a letter of notice to Collins.
Collins is a trustee for several charitable foundations and serves on the Cooper Levenson Scholarship Committee, a committee devoted to furthering educational opportunities for area residents of talent and need. Collins has, for twenty years, served in Shore Memorial Hospital's Volunteer Program in the Chaplain Program where he ministered to sick and critically ill patients. In addition, he was the first elected Regional Minister of St. Katherine Drexel Regional Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order. He concentrates his law practice in the areas of residential real estate transactions, commercial litigation, and condominium law.
Collins is a graduate of Villanova University (B.A., cum laude, English, 1969; M.A., English, 1973; M.A., Theatre, 1975) and Temple University (J.D. 1980), and was admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania in 1980 and in New Jersey, the United States District Court, District of New Jersey and United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1981.
