Mack Adds More Members to His Team

TRENTON -- Mayor-elect Tony Mack has announced more members of his transition team, including a school district employee, an area political activist and two attorneys connected with Atlantic City and the gaming industry.

"Our transition team brings a wealth of public and private expertise to the table," Mack said in a press release yesterday. "We look forward to hitting the ground running."

In addition to co-chairmen Joe Jacobs and Jack Washington, the new members of his transition team are Wes Bridges, Cynthia Gomez, Jasmin Gonzalez, Lloyd D. Levenson, Joseph Truch and Andrew Weber.

Levenson, the CEO of the Cooper Levenson firm and an attorney specializing in gambling and casinos, served on transition teams for former governors Jon Corzine and James McGreevey and Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford.

Weber, also an attorney, has served as chairman of the state's Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) as well as in a number of other state positions. Under then-Gov. James Florio, he was state commissioner of personnel and then chief counsel, and before that, he was Gloucester County counsel.

Jacobs, the transition team co-chair, was vice chairman of the CRDA in the early 1990s and was also on Langford's transition team.

Bridges, a partner at Adorno Yoss Wong Fleming in Princeton, is a former sports standout at Ewing High School who played football for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1996 to 1997.

Gomez is a project manager for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, and Gonzalez is employed by the Trenton schools and holds special education certification, Mack said in the press release.

Rounding out the new members is Truch, a Trenton business owner and builder. He has served as vice chairman of the Mercer County Republican Party and worked on numerous political campaigns in the city and the county.

Mack also confirmed that Bill Guhl, the former business administrator in Trenton, Lawrence and other municipalities, will serve on the transition team.

"We are going to put the citizens of Trenton first in everything we do," Mack said. "We cannot fix everything overnight. But we can get started right away."

Mack will take office July 1.
