Lewis April Honored at Meeting in D.C.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito recently presented Lewis B. April, a founding partner of Cooper Levenson April Niedelman & Wagenheim, an award for his role as New Jersey State Chair of the United States Supreme Court Historical Society.
April was honored at the Society’s 35th annual meeting and dinner in Washington D.C. last month, where he also met Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Justice Stephen G. Brever, Justice Antonin G. Scalia, and Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
The award, which features the seal of the United States Supreme Court Historical Society, is hand cut from marble sections that were once part of the United States Supreme Court building.
“This award will have a place of honor in my office,” said April. “What a privilege it is to be a part of the Society and to meet the Supreme Court Justices and so many other distinguished guests.”
The United States Supreme Court Historical Society, a private non-profit organization, is dedicated to the collection and preservation of the history of the Supreme Court of the United States.
As New Jersey State Chair, April works towards the Society’s goal of expanding public understanding of the history and heritage of the United States Supreme Court.
