Jeff Lindsay Announces "Wills for Heroes" event in Atlantic County May 22
Atlantic City, NJ – A “Wills for Heroes” event will be held on May 22 at the AtlantiCare Life Center, 2500 English Creek Road, Egg Harbor Township, for Sworn first responder personnel and their spouse or partner, announced Jeffrey R. Lindsay, event coordinator and attorney at Cooper Levenson.
Wills For Heroes is a national nonprofit organization created after September 11, 2001, when thousands of first responders risked their lives, and more than 400 firefighters and police officers died. Recognizing that many first responders do not have estate plans, Wills For Heroes and volunteer attorneys from across the country have been providing free legal estate-planning services to our country’s police, fire, paramedic, correction and probation officer personnel. Since its inception, Wills for Heroes has provided more than 10,000 wills for police, fire and paramedics in ten different states. Starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m., volunteer lawyers will be available for appointments. Each appointment will last approximately one hour. First responders will have notarized legal documents at the conclusion of their appointment. Spouses and partners are asked to sign up for back to back appointments and expect to spend up to two hours on site. Registration is at http://eggharborwfh.eventbrite.com/. For more information on this program, please review the Wills for Heroes Foundation website at www.willsforheroes.org .
"We had such a great turnout of volunteer attorneys and first responders at last year's event in Cape May County," said Lindsay. "We hope to have an even better response this year in Atlantic County," he added.
