Jill T. Ojserkis to Chair Cooper Levenson's Healthcare Law Practice Group
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cooper Levenson is pleased to announce that Jill T. Ojserkis has joined the firm as Chair of the firm’s Healthcare Law Practice Group. Ojserkis maintains a general healthcare practice on behalf of institutional clients such as hospitals, health systems, medical staffs and ancillary providers. Ojserkis also represents individual licensed providers and practice groups. While she primarily concentrates her practice on Medical Staff / physician relations, governance issues for Hospitals and Medical Staffs, bioethical and transactional matters including managed care, Ojserkis and her Practice Group also provide administrative, regulatory, and ethical counsel; represent clients before federal, state, and accreditation and regulatory agencies; and handle a wide variety of transactional, tax, and corporate matters, including practice acquisition, joint ventures, entity formation, physician group breakups, and hospital - physician contractual matters. She also represents health care clients and others in tax and estates and corporate/transactional matters. “We are very pleased to welcome Jill as the new Chair of our Healthcare Law Practice Group. Ojserkis is a graduate of Boston University (B.A. 1981), the Delaware Law School (Juris Doctor 1984), and the University of Miami (LL.M. Estate Planning 1985). She is admitted to the Bar in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Tax Court.
In addition to her practice, Ojserkis is an elected member of the Mainland Regional High School Board of Education. She also serves as a member of the Atlantic County Economic Development Advisory Commission, is a member and a former chair of the South Jersey AIDS Alliance Board of Directors and is an Emeritus Board Member of the AtlantiCare Foundation. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Atlantic County Bar Association.
Ojserkis was inducted into the Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame in 2009 and was honored with the Atlantic County Bar Associations’ Benjamin A. Rimm Award Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award in 1993. She received the Atlantic County Bar Association’s Outstanding Service to the Community and Bar Award in 1990 and was honored as the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees “Key Man of the Year” award in 1991. Ojserkis formerly served as a member of the board of trustees of the Miss America Organization, the Miss America Foundation, East Mountain Hospital, Jewish Family Service of Atlantic County, the United Way of Atlantic County, the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees, the Atlantic City Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Urban League of Atlantic City.
