Cooper Levenson Welcomes Kathleen F. Beers, Esq.

Cooper Levenson is pleased to announce that Kathleen F. Beers has joined the firm. Beers will be based in the firm’s Atlantic City office and will work with the Defense Litigation Practice Group as Of Counsel.

“Kathleen brings an impressive background and a wealth of experience in complex litigation. She will be a great addition to the Cooper Levenson team,” said Kenneth J. Calemmo, Jr., Chief Operating Officer.

Beers has an extensive background in appellate law as well as commercial litigation and corporate law, real estate, and personal injury law. She has represented clients before the United State Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, and state appellate and supreme courts.

Prior to joining Cooper Levenson, Beers successfully developed an appellate practice. She was amicus counsel before the United States Supreme Court in the case of Bates v. Dow, 544 U.S. 431 (2005) which overturned years of Federal preemption of product liability cases. She was instrumental in obtaining some of the firm’s largest verdicts and settlements.

Beers earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University Law School – Camden. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Federal District Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She is a Certified Foreclosure Mediator and is designated as an arbitrator in the counties of Atlantic, Cumberland, and Gloucester.

In addition to her practice, Beers volunteers at her local animal shelter. Cooper Levenson is a full service law firm since 1957, with 70 attorneys and offices in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Florida, and Nevada.
