Join Us at the Captain’s Table Feb. 4, 2016

Dear Friends:

As the state’s largest provider of donated food to hundreds of partner charities serving the emergency food needs of the poor throughout the state, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey depends heavily on the generosity of our friends and supporters to help keep those in need fed.

One of those partner charities is Let Us Eat, Please. A summer feeding program helping to ensure that poor kids get enough to eat over the summer months and school breaks.

Did you know that in Atlantic County alone:

•· 56,000 people are enrolled in Medicaid due to a disability or their age

•· 44,000 people rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) to help feed their families

•· 22,000 children are eligible to receive free or reduced priced lunch while in school

•· The FoodBank distributed more food in the past year than any other time in our 30 year history, including after Superstorm Sandy

All of this means just one thing… more men, women, vulnerable children and seniors, and the disabled need our help more than ever!

Through the link here, you will find information about a unique upcoming event designed to provide some of the funds needed to help us make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We hope you will consider being a sponsor and/or joining us at the Captain’s Table as we gather at the Progressive Insurance Company’s Atlantic City Boat Show at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Thursday, February 4, 2016 for a gala fundraiser.

While the poor may always be with us, with your help and our food distribution efforts, they don’t have to go hungry!

Gratefully,

Richard J. Unidacke, Executive Director, Community FoodBank of NJ, Southern Branch
