Seeking a professional and experienced Legal Assistant to join our Estate Planning team. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of Estate Planning and Probate Law, with strong organization skills, attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Under the Supervision of an Attorney, draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills/Health Care Directives, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Operating Agreements, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with clients to gather information, clarify details, and ensure documents are properly prepared and executed.
  • Conform legal documents to client’s specified wishes.
  • Schedule meetings and officiate estate planning signings.
  • Record deeds.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records, both physical & digital.
  • Track deadlines and reprioritize assignments, as new priorities arise.
  • Perform legal administrative tasks such as maintaining case files and saving emails and documents to document management system.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on estate planning that is relevant to each jurisdiction.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification helpful.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 4-6 years prior estate planning and probate experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of Estate Planning documents and terminology.
  • Familiarity with Probate Law, helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.
  • Experience with billing systems and the ability to accurately track billable work.
  • Detail oriented with a strong attention to details.
  • Familiarity with NetDocs and Interactive Legal, a plus.
  • Performs other required duties, as assigned.

Full Time; Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Pay Range:  $25.00-$30.00 per hour
