Daria B. Janka is a member of the firm's Casino & Hospitality Industry Defense Litigation Practice Group. Daria concentrates much of her practice in defense litigation matters concerning business disputes, employment issues, construction and personal injury matters.
Previously, Daria was a solo practitioner at the Janka Law Firm, P.L.L.C., in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She represented plaintiffs in civil action suits and matrimonial matters, where she prepared complex litigation discovery, counseled clients for settlement and prepared for trial. Prior to that, she interned for the Honorable Renee M. Bumb, U.S. District Court in Camden. There, she prepared Social Security appeals, class actions and personal injury claims, as well as, observed and assisted in civil and criminal trials.
Daria studied psychology and special education at Sofia University in Bulgaria before moving to the United States. Daria earned her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, graduating cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa, Academic Excellence honors. She earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law, where she also was president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and did pro bono work at the domestic violence clinic. Daria earned LL.M. (Master's of Law) in Trial Advocacy program from the nationally ranked Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2018.Languages
In addition to English, Daria is fluent in Bulgarian and French, and speaks conversationally in Russian.
Daria volunteers her services to Philadelphia VIP; her pro-bono work there provides indigent individuals with representation in matrimonial and foreclosure matters.
Daria is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania (2013).
