Kasi Marie Gifford is an attorney in Cooper Levenson’s Atlantic City office and a member of the firm’s Education Law Practice Group. She advises school boards, administrators, and school officials across New Jersey on a wide range of education law matters, including governance, policy development, employment and personnel issues, student rights, and regulatory compliance.
Kasi represents school districts in areas such as special education, discrimination and harassment claims, disability-related matters, construction and public bidding issues, Family Medical Leave Act concerns, tort claims, and Open Public Records Act requests. She also provides day-to-day counsel to school board members and administrators, helping them anticipate and address challenges while focusing on their educational mission.
Dedicated to serving New Jersey’s school communities, Kasi brings practical legal guidance and a collaborative approach to the complex issues facing public education today.
Kasi served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James P. Savio, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division, Atlantic County from 2015-2016.
Kasi also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Allen Littlefield and to the Honorable James Savio.
She is a state-trained mediator for the State of New Jersey. Kasi’s practice previously included a focus on all areas of plaintiff personal injury work.
While in law school, Kasi served as a certified legal intern with the Delaware Civil Law Clinic, where she represented victims of domestic violence and handled custody and visitation matters.
Kasi participated in an Intensive Trial Advocacy Program and earned a Specialized Legal Studies in Trial Advocacy Law Certificate.
She was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and Phi Alpha Delta.
Kasi was selected for inclusion on the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star list in 2021 through the present. Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, selects attorneys for their “Super Lawyers” and “Rising Stars” list using “a patented multiphase selection process.
