Gregory F. Birney concentrates his practice in business law and commercial transactions. Admitted to practice in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, Greg offers clients the benefit of a multi-jurisdictional perspective and experience navigating complex regulatory and legal matters.

Before becoming an attorney, Greg spent a decade in the alcoholic beverage industry, where he developed firsthand knowledge of the legal and regulatory challenges facing businesses in one of the nation’s most heavily regulated industries. He later expanded that experience by clerking for a Boston attorney whose practice served clients across all three tiers of the alcoholic beverage industry and by working with The Boston Beer Company, where he collaborated with state regulators throughout the country to ensure compliance with beer and cider labeling requirements.

Greg is committed to giving back to the community through pro bono legal service. He has represented survivors of domestic violence through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, accepted court-appointed child custody matters through the Chester County Access to Justice program, and volunteered with Wills for Heroes, preparing estate planning documents for first responders and veterans. He also served on the Board of Directors of CASA of Cecil County, including a term as President, helping advocate for the best interests of children in foster care.
