Nkemakunam (Nkem) L. Obata is an associate in Cooper Levenson’s Commercial Litigation Department, based in the Wilmington office. Nkem has experience with insurance defense litigation and has practiced in several Delaware courts such as the Justice of the Peace, Court of Common Pleas, and the Delaware Superior Court.

Nkem’s early legal experience includes being a law clerk for the Delaware Department of Justice and judicial extern for the Delaware Supreme Court under Chief Justice Seitz.

While attending Delaware Law School, Nkem held several leadership positions such as the president of the Student Bar Association, co-manager of internal affairs for Transactional Law Honor Society, and DEI Chair for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.
